The refrigerant, which has since condensed, moves through the evaporator coil as a cool, low-pressure liquid. As this happens, warm indoor air that passes through it loses warmth and moisture and transforms into cool, dry air.
4. Blower. The blower circulates air into your home and pulls room-temperature air back for re-cooling. It ensures that your home is always at the set temperature indicated on your thermostat.
5. Fan. Your outdoor AC unit may feel hot to the touch due to the refrigerant passing through the condenser coils. This is where the fan plays an important role. It’s responsible for venting the hot air from the outdoor unit so it doesn’t overheat during operation.
6. Air filter. The air filter blocks dust and dirt from entering the main components of the air conditioning unit. Without it, the quality of the system will slowly deteriorate.
7. Thermostat. This is the control center of the cooling process. The thermostat reads the indoor temperature and controls when to turn the air conditioning unit on and off.
